Description
Lyric Suite was written by Alban Berg in the early 20th century. It was a piece in the 12 tone school created by Arnold Shoenburg. The piece has 6 movements, eacch movement telelscoping in tepo, moderate tempo first two movements, third movement allegro, fourth movemnt adagio, and fifth movement presto, and sixth movement largo. My string quartet Rilke String Quartet performed it in Hlelman Hall at San Franc;isco Conservatory of Music in 1992. Member of the chamber music group were Graeme Jennings 1st violin, Chris Latham 2nd violin, Benjamin Barnes viola and Sam Bass cello. We were coached by Mark Sokol formerly first violin Concord String Quaret. I brought the recording to Kronos String Quartet violinist David Harrington at their office in the San Francisco Inner Sunset district. He then performed Lyric Suite with Kronos that season, and started coming to Deadweight shows. He asked me to write a piece for Kronos. I am still working on it. heres Rilke String Quartet playing /lyric Suite https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1f4JT21Vs0wAyfRcLErj3I?si=f69f2d39d5844097
