One of my upcoming collections of great violinists. These will include Jascha Heifetz my grand teacher, Isaac Stern, Pinchas Zukerman, David Itzahk Perlman, Bobby Man, Mark Sokol, Isadore Tinkleman, among others. Vikings playing the Sibelius violin concerto. The Bencasso project depicts famous violinists from before the 21st century as Vikings in battle gear playing the Sibelius Violin Concerto. The concerto is divided into three movements: The first movement, titled "Approaching the Shore," begins with the seascape and the prow of a Viking ship approaching the shore. As the horses clamber and stumble off the boat, the music becomes more intense, depicting the Vikings approaching a village. The scale diatonic pattern on the G string of the violin turns into wild double stop arpeggio sequences and octaves. The second movement, "Ransacking the Village," shows the aftermath of the attack, with the villagers being taken as slaves. Our hero Viking, who had noticed a young woman and was enamored by her, consoles her on the boat as they sail to the slavers. The third movement, "Escape from the Slavers," depicts the hero going back to save the woman and their escape on horseback. The dotted rhythm Spanish figure beats and the finale shows the hero fighting the slavers, ultimately sacrificing himself to save the woman. The final ascending notes depict the woman taking the hero to Asgard to prepare for Ragnarok with Odin and Thor's army. Overall, the concerto tells a story of a Viking's last good deeds earning him a place in Valhalla.
